This thing is super saturated with the silicone. I wiped it on and then used another rag to wipe a good bit of it off. All I need is a protective layer, not enough lubricant to do an oil change in my car. That being said, I will definitely purchase another when this one is spent. Seems to be doing a great job for me so far.Has a good amount of silicone. If you use vinyl gloves, it’ll be easier cleanup for your hands. Leaves a visible protective layer on metal.I bought this silicone cloth to replace my functional but dirty, oily, 8 year old one. The fabric is thick but soft and it is very thoroughly permeated with silicone. I'm sure that I will get a good 8 years of service from this one too. The retailer also was super with a great price and speedy delivery.Perspiration and gun metal are a bad combination. Where I live, it is hot and humid. This is a bad environment for steel and rust can blossom quickly on a weapon. My long-standing practice has been to wipe down my weapons with an oily rag after cleaning and before putting them away. Kind of stinky, and, well, oily. Also, then there is the oily rag to deal with as well. I can't believe it took me so long to get wise to this silicone cloth. It has a pleasant odor and leaves just a trace of shiny protective film on the metal. The weapons do not feel greasy afterwards. The enhanced luster of the metal tells me there is a layer of protection. The cloth is also great for wiping down the exterior of magazines.The oil level is perfect and the cloth cleans very well. Very happy with this product.In an obsessive way I've purchased every different brand silicone cloth on amazon over the past decade. I have to say I'm drawn to this one. If I could wash my face with it I would, it smells that good. It works better than any other one. Over time I've bought this brand numerous times so as to always have this one around, in different range bags and gun rugs. It's worth buying. The Pro Shot Silicone cleaning cloth is exactly what I wanted. It has precisely the right amount of silicone to protect my guns from rust and keeps them looking new. I have tried other brands that literally caused my pistols to drip oil or not have any protection at all. I own two of these and will continue to use them to protect my weapons.
